Membership to Freelearners CIC Resource Library is just £1.00. Library Members may
hire Resource Boxes which have their own 'hire charge' based on the value of the tools
and materials available within the box.
Freelearners loans books, tools and materials on the following terms and conditions:
· Freelearners will only loan items to those who have paid the relevant fee.
· You (the borrower) are responsible for any borrowed item from the time you take possession of it until it is returned in keeping with this agreement. You agree that borrowed items will remain in your possession at all times.
· If an item is lost, stolen, damaged, or experiences mechanical failure, please do not worry but do contact us. Resources are loaned for a fee just so we can replace and update materials in the boxes for future use. We expect reasonable loss and damage. Additional fees may apply only for excessive repairs or replacement.
· If while using a loaned item, you are injured or injur anything or anyone during the term of this agreement, you are fully and solely responsible for all associated claims, obligations, and liability. Freelearners does not offer nor provide any insurance or other assurances, services, or protection.
· You agree you will not use an item for anything other than the purpose it is designed for and make use of it in an appropriate manner. It is incumbent on you to risk assess all items for the suitability for your household and read all safety notices issued. Freelearners will not accept liability for negligent behaviour, accident or mistake associated with borrowed items. In agreeing to these terms and conditions you release Freelearners from any responsibility for items and the result of them being in your care.
· You must return borrowed items on the agreed upon date/time at the agreed upon location. If this proves to be difficult, it is your responsibility to contact Freelearners so that alternative arrangements can be made.
· Should a borrowed item be returned late then you may be responsible for late fees plus any additional costs that may be incurred by Freelearners as a result of your late return.
· If you fail to return an item or items to Freelearners by the end of the borrowing period, we reserve the right to refuse to continue to lend to you and may take steps to recover our property or cost of materials loaned to you.
· If for any reason, Freelearners is required to engage a solicitor or collection agency to collect any amounts that are due to it under this agreement, and Freelearners is successful in such action, the borrower agrees to reimburse Freelearners for all costs and reasonable solicitor’s fees incurred by Freelearners in connection with enforcing its payment rights. The non-prevailing party shall indemnify the prevailing party for all reasonable expenses incurred in prosecuting any dispute, including but not limited to, solicitor’s fees.
The scope of this agreement will extend to all items borrowed for the duration of any Library User Subscription without a separate notice being given, other than that the transaction be recorded in the library database.
A copy of this agreement will be kept on file.
